Zoho partner discovery questionnaire for multi-company clients

What it is

This free Excel questionnaire lists the questions a Zoho partner should ask a client with more than one company before promising consolidation: entities, ownership, currencies, systems, intercompany volume, reporting needs, budgets, deadlines and who owns the work. Each answer is scored, and a scoring sheet suggests a route and flags the questions to settle before quoting.

What’s inside

  • Twenty-five questions in nine areas, each with the reason a partner asks it.
  • Four answer choices per question, from simple to complex, picked from a list.
  • A weight for each question that you can change for the client.
  • A scoring sheet with a complexity score for each area and for the whole client.
  • A suggested route, and a flag on the answers to discuss before you quote.

How to use it

  1. Ask the questions on the Questions sheet during the discovery call and pick the closest answer from each list. Use the Notes column for the detail.
  2. Adjust the weights for the client: 3 for a topic that decides the project, 1 for a topic that is nice to know.
  3. Open the Scoring sheet. Read the complexity for each area, the overall reading and the suggested route.
  4. Settle the Discuss questions with the client before you quote.

Who is it for?

Zoho partners, accounting firms and consultants who are asked whether Zoho Books can handle a group of companies. Zoho’s help pages describe no report that combines Zoho Books organizations, as of 29 October 2026, so the honest answer depends on the client’s answers to these questions. Pair it with the Zoho Books group set-up checklist. For the group layer on a complex client, Finconsol works alongside Zoho partners.

Questions

Is the score a verdict?

No. It is a prompt for the conversation. Scope and price the work from the full discovery, not from a score.

Can I change the thresholds?

Yes. The two thresholds for Medium and High are on the Scoring sheet.

What are the answers shown?

They are for the example group, Zenvara Group Ltd. Select the pale blue answer cells and press Delete to start your own.

Do I need Excel?

The file uses standard formulas and opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets.
