Hospitality group reporting and consolidation across properties
A hotel or restaurant group with each property in its own company wants occupancy, ADR and RevPAR for the whole portfolio. The accounts hold revenue and cost; room-nights and covers live in the property and till systems. Finconsol consolidates the companies and holds those counts beside the accounts, property by property.
Hospitality: Executive overview

Hospitality executive overview for Palmridge Hospitality Group, year to date, Apr 2026 to Sep 2026: Occupancy 68.4%, ADR AED 393.38, RevPAR AED 269.10 ADR times occupancy, GOP margin 35.3%. Properties compared, RevPAR (AED, Apr 2026 to Sep 2026): Dubai hotel AED 376.15, Goa resort AED 241.82, Colombo hotel AED 135.71, Muscat hotel AED 242.30.
Properties compared, RevPAR
AED, Apr 2026 to Sep 2026Room revenue is in the books. Room-nights are not.
Hotel and restaurant owners often put each property in its own company, sometimes with a partner in one of them and a management company on top. Every company closes its books. The owner still asks which property has the strongest RevPAR, how the food and beverage average check is moving, and whether labour cost is holding the margin.
The accounts show revenue and cost. Rooms, room-nights, bookings and covers sit in the property management and till systems.
- RevPAR needs a count. It is room revenue over room-nights available, and the second figure is not in the ledger.
- Seasonality hides in annual totals. Comparing properties only makes sense month by month, against the same month last year.
- Fees and loans between companies. Management fees and loans from the holding company inflate revenue, cost and balances until they are removed.
- Partly owned properties. A partner's share of one hotel must come out of group profit as minority interest.
How groups do it today, and where it breaks
Most hospitality finance teams assemble a monthly property comparison in a spreadsheet, using the accounts and a report from each property.
| Question | How it is answered today | Where it breaks | In Finconsol |
|---|---|---|---|
| Occupancy, ADR and RevPAR | Room-nights copied from each property's report | A late property goes unnoticed, and revenue and room counts sit in different files | Room-nights available and sold per company and month; Data Health shows who has sent |
| Food and beverage average check | Revenue divided by covers from the till | Covers are in another file from the revenue | Covers kept as a statistic line beside food and beverage revenue |
| Labour cost and GOP margin | Added up property by property | Management fees are still inside the group cost | Group cost after eliminations, with the GOP layout for every company |
| Partly owned hotels | The partner's share worked out by hand | Recalculated each month and easy to get wrong | Ownership percentages recorded once; minority interest calculated |
How Finconsol handles a hospitality group
Bring in every property's books
Zoho Books organizations connect directly and refresh every night. Companies on Xero, QuickBooks or any other system upload a trial balance each month.
Consolidate
Accounts are mapped once to one group chart, each company is translated into the group currency, and fees and balances between your companies are eliminated. Partly owned properties carry their ownership percentage.
Add the property figures
Rooms, room-nights, bookings and covers go in as statistic lines: a grid, a file upload, or sent automatically from your property management system.
Switch on the hospitality pack
The statistic lines, dashboards and report layouts below are created for you.
Compare properties and seasons
Read each property against the others and against the same month last year, then open any figure down to the account behind it.
What the hospitality pack adds
The pack is a starting point. You can change any line, dashboard or layout, add your own, or remove all of it.
| Statistic lines (8) | Lines |
|---|---|
| Rooms | Rooms, room-nights available, room-nights sold, guest-nights |
| Bookings | Bookings, cancelled bookings |
| Food and beverage | Covers |
| People | Headcount |
| Dashboards (7) | For the question |
|---|---|
| Executive overview | Where is the portfolio this month? |
| Rooms | Occupancy, ADR and RevPAR |
| Food and beverage | Covers and the average check |
| People and labour | Headcount and labour cost |
| Profit and cost | GOP margin and where cost sits |
| Properties compared | Which property is ahead, which is behind? |
| Trends and seasonality | This month against the same month last year |
KPIs
Occupancy, ADR (average daily rate), RevPAR (revenue per available room), food and beverage average check, labour cost, GOP (gross operating profit) margin, and revenue per room and per employee.
Two draft report layouts
- Departmental P&L with GOP: the profit and loss by department, down to gross operating profit.
- P&L with occupancy, ADR and RevPAR: the profit and loss with those three figures beside it.
What you get
- Group statements: balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow for any month, quarter or year, with comparisons, tied to a consolidation worksheet that has a column per property company.
- Property KPIs beside the financials: occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and GOP margin, for each property and for the portfolio.
- Budget against actual for each company and for the group.
- Board packs with the group's KPIs, refreshed with the month and locked.
Good to know
- Finconsol does not read from your property management or till systems. The figures arrive by grid, upload or the key your system uses to send them.
- While a month is in progress, each new figure replaces the previous one for that month. The figure freezes when the month is closed.
- Statistics sit beside the accounts. They are not journal entries and do not change any balance.
- The group reports in one currency. Xero and QuickBooks companies join by trial balance upload today, with direct connections coming soon.
