Consolidation software for accounting firms and CA firms
Finconsol lets an accounting firm prepare group accounts for many clients from one login. Each client group is kept separate, with its own companies, users and settings. Each client's companies can be on any system, and every month is locked once the figures are final.
One login, every client group
Each client is its own group, with its own companies and team.
A firm workspace called Your client groups lists five client groups, each kept separate: Harbour Foods with 4 companies and September locked, Vertex Holdings with 14 companies in review, Coastal Exports with 2 companies waiting for 1 trial balance, Meridian Group with 3 companies and September locked, and Zenvara Group with 5 companies and intercompany to clear. Each shows its accounting systems.
- Harbour Foods 4 companiesSeptember locked
- Vertex Holdings 14 companiesIn review
- Coastal Exports 2 companiesWaiting for 1 trial balance
- Meridian Group 3 companiesSeptember locked
- Zenvara Group 5 companiesIntercompany to clear
Each client keeps its own companies and settings, apart from every other client group.
Every client group is a month of work, and no two look alike
A client with a holding company and three subsidiaries wants group accounts. Another has two companies in two countries. A third has a family of seven companies on three systems. Each is built as a one-off spreadsheet by whoever on your team knows the client best.
When that person is away, or the client asks what changed since last quarter, the work is hard to pick up and hard to explain.
- Different systems per client. Some clients use Zoho Books, some Xero or QuickBooks, some an accounting package that only exports a trial balance.
- Workbooks that belong to a person. The formulas live in one file on one laptop.
- Changes by email. Corrections travel as a file attached to a message, with no record of what changed.
- Clients mixed up by accident. One wrong tab in one wrong workbook is an embarrassing call.
How firms do it today
Most firms keep a workbook per client and rebuild it each month. It works until the team, the number of clients or the questions grow.
| Workbook per client | Finconsol | |
|---|---|---|
| Separation of clients | Separate files, kept apart by discipline | Each client group has its own companies, users and settings |
| Different systems | Each export reshaped by hand | Zoho Books connected; everything else by trial balance |
| Adjustments | Typed into the client's workbook | Journals in Finconsol, apart from the companies' books |
| After the review | A new version of the file | The month locks and every change is recorded |
How Finconsol works for a firm
One login for the firm
Your firm signs in once and sees the client groups you work on.
A separate group per client
Each client has its own companies, users and settings. Nothing is shared between clients.
Companies on any system
Zoho Books companies connect directly and refresh every night. Companies on Xero, QuickBooks or any other system upload a trial balance each month.
Adjust and lock
Adjustments are journals in Finconsol, apart from the companies' books. When the group accounts are final, the month is locked.
Each client's companies can be on whatever system they use. Zoho Books connects directly; the rest come in by trial balance.
Connects to Zoho Books. Works with Xero, QuickBooks, or any system that exports a trial balance.
What your clients get
- Group statements: balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow and fund flow, for any month, quarter or year, with comparisons.
- A consolidation worksheet with a column per company, adjustments and the group total.
- Minority interest for partly owned companies, from the ownership percentages.
- Board packs refreshed with the month and locked.
- Excel and PDF export of exactly what is on screen.
A client's group can mix Zoho Books with other systems. Xero, QuickBooks and anything else join by trial balance.
Good to know
- Finconsol prepares and records. It does not replace professional judgement or audit procedures; the decisions stay with your team.
- Most groups are live in a day, and past months can be loaded once.
- Pricing is on request and depends on the number of companies and users.
