Integrations: how each company's books come into the group

Finconsol reads Zoho Books directly, read-only, and refreshes it every night. Companies on Xero, QuickBooks, Excel or any other system upload a trial balance each month. Xero and QuickBooks direct connections are coming soon. One group can mix all of these and still produce a single set of group accounts.

Bring the books in

Zoho Books connects directly. Every other system comes in as a trial balance.

Five companies in four systems are loaded for September 2026. Two sync from Zoho Books, one trial balance from Xero is checked and mapped, and two more arrive as uploaded trial balances.

  • Zoho Books Zenvara Pte. Ltd. Synced today 02:30
  • Xero Zenvara Inc. Checked: debits equal credits 214 of 214 accounts mapped Zenvara-Inc-TB-Sep-2026.xlsx
  • QuickBooks Zenvara UK Ltd Trial balance uploaded 2 Oct
  • Excel Zenvara FZ-LLC Trial balance uploaded 3 Oct

September 2026: all five companies in.

Groups rarely run on one system

The parent started on one accounting system. A subsidiary was bought on another. The overseas company uses whatever the local accountant prefers. Each set of books is fine, but a group report needs all of them in one place.

Asking every company to change system is slow and unpopular. Asking each one for a file every month is how the spreadsheet starts.

  • Several systems, several export formats.
  • Files that arrive late or in a different layout from last month.
  • No check that a file balances before it is pasted in.
  • No way to trace a group figure back to where it came from.

Systems Finconsol works with

Each company joins in the way its system allows. All of them end up on the same group chart.

How a trial balance upload works

  1. Use the template

Finconsol provides an Excel or CSV template. Export the trial balance from your system and put it in the template: account code, account name, account type (asset, liability, equity, income or expense), and either debit and credit columns or one signed balance.

  2. Every row is checked

Before anything is used, each row is checked. Debits must equal credits, and every account must be one Finconsol knows.

  3. Map accounts once

The first time, each of the company's accounts is mapped to the group chart. Next month the mapping is already there. A new account stops the month and is named until it is mapped.

  4. Consolidate with the rest

The company joins translation, intercompany comparison and the group statements exactly like a company on a direct connection.

One group, several systems. A Zoho Books company in India, a Xero company in the UK and a QuickBooks company in the US can sit in the same group. Each is translated into the group's currency and mapped to the same chart.

Past months. When a company is added, its earlier months can be loaded once, so comparisons with the previous period and last year work from the first day.

For the full process after the books come in, see financial consolidation software.

What you get

  • Nightly refresh for Zoho Books companies, and a refresh on demand when you need the latest figures during the day.
  • Drill-down to the transaction for Zoho Books companies, and to the account for companies that upload a trial balance.
  • A checked trial balance each month for companies that upload, so a file that does not balance never reaches the group accounts.
  • Read-only access. Nothing is written back to any of your systems.

Good to know

  • Xero and QuickBooks are trial balance uploads today. Direct connections are coming soon, and we do not describe them as connected until they are.
  • A trial balance gives account-level figures. Transaction-level drill-down is available for Zoho Books companies.
  • A trial balance is only as current as the month it covers, so uploaded companies update when you upload.

Questions

Which accounting systems does Finconsol work with?
Zoho Books connects directly. Xero, QuickBooks, Excel and any other system that can export a trial balance join by monthly upload. Direct connections for Xero and QuickBooks are coming soon.
Can one group mix Zoho Books and other systems?
Yes. Each company joins in the way its system allows, and all of them are mapped to the same group chart and consolidated together. Which system a company uses does not change the group statements.
What happens when I upload a trial balance?
Every row is checked before it is used. Debits must equal credits, and each account must be known. A new account that has not been mapped stops that month and is named, so you map it once and carry on.
Does Finconsol change anything in my accounting system?
No. The Zoho Books connection is read-only, and trial balance uploads are files you give to Finconsol. Nothing is written back to any system.
What is the difference between a direct connection and a trial balance upload?
A direct connection refreshes every night and reads the ledger, so group figures drill down to the transactions behind them. A trial balance upload brings in the balances for the month, so figures are at account level.
Can I load past months for a new company?
Yes. Past months can be loaded once when a company is added, so comparisons with the previous period and last year work from the start.
My system is not listed. Can I still use Finconsol?
If it can produce a trial balance in Excel or CSV, yes. Use the template, fill in the balances for the month and upload it.
