# Can Zoho Books consolidate several companies? What Zoho's help centre says

> The pages we read on 29 Oct 2026, what they say about a combined report, and what goes wrong when two organizations' reports are simply added together.

## In short

The help pages we opened describe no report in Zoho Books that combines organizations, and the plan comparison has no consolidation row. Each company is reported alone, in its own currency. To get group figures you translate, map and eliminate outside Zoho Books, in a spreadsheet, in Zoho Analytics or in consolidation software.

Key takeaways

- **Zoho Books has no combined report,** on the help pages and plan comparison checked on 29 Oct 2026.
- **Zoho ERP is a different product** and does have multi-company management. Do not mix the two up.
- **Adding two reports together gets the group wrong** because the currencies differ and intercompany is counted twice.
- **Zoho's own workaround is Zoho Analytics** with rates typed in by hand.

## What does Zoho's help centre say about consolidating organizations?

Nothing on the pages where a combined report would be described, listed below, describes a report that spans more than one Zoho Books organization.

| Page we opened | What it covers | Combined view? |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Manage multiple organizations1 | Creating, cloning and managing organizations; a 14-day Premium trial for each new one | Not mentioned |
| Add an organization2 | The default limit of five organizations per email address | Not mentioned |
| Plan comparison, UK edition3 | Features and limits per plan | No row for organizations, consolidation or multi-entity |
| Networking4 | Pushing and accepting transactions between linked organizations | Transactions only, no reporting |
| Budgets5 | Budgets and Budget vs Actuals | Silent on several organizations |

*What Zoho's pages say about a combined view, checked 29 Oct 2026*

The accurate statement is therefore "Zoho Books has no report that combines organizations, on the pages we checked". It is not "Zoho cannot", because Zoho adds features, and it is not "Zoho has no consolidation", because Zoho ERP has it.

## What is the difference between Zoho Books and Zoho ERP here?

They are different products. Zoho ERP's help describes Multi-Company Management, with intercompany transactions pushed from one company and accepted by the other[6](#src-6), and an elimination subsidiary, a virtual entity where elimination entries are recorded[7](#src-7). Moving every company to a different product is a project of its own.

## What goes wrong if you add the organizations' reports together?

Take the smallest case. Zenvara Group Ltd keeps its books in Zoho Books in pounds. Its German subsidiary Quillfern GmbH keeps its books in a second Zoho Books organization in euros. September revenue is GBP 625,000 for Zenvara and EUR 700,000 for Quillfern.

Open both reports, put the totals side by side and add them, and you get a number that looks like group revenue.

*Exhibit 1. Adding two Zoho Books reports without translating, Sep 2026GBP*

| Zenvara revenuePounds, as reported | 625,000 |
| --- | --- |
| Quillfern revenue read as poundsThe euro figure, EUR 700,000, added as it stands | 700,000 |
| Two reports added as they stand | 1,325,000 |
| Quillfern revenue in poundsEUR 700,000 at the average rate of 0.8450 | 591,500 |
| Revenue after translating625,000 plus 591,500 | 1,216,500 |
| Overstated by adding unlike currencies | 108,500 |

Example group used across Finconsol guides. Figures rounded to the pound.

The currency is only the first error. Suppose Zenvara also charged Quillfern a management fee of EUR 50,000 (an illustration for this example), which is 42,250 at the same rate. It sits in Zenvara's revenue and in Quillfern's costs. Counted in both, it inflates group revenue and group costs alike, so the fee has to be removed. After translating and eliminating, revenue of these two companies is 1,174,250.

This is why the standards ask for two steps. A foreign subsidiary's income is translated at an [average rate](/blog/glossary/average-rate/) and its balances at the [closing rate](/blog/glossary/closing-rate/)[8](#src-8), and intragroup income and expenses are eliminated in full[9](#src-9).

******Revenue, two Zoho Books companies, Sep 2026, GBP2 of 5 companies

| Company | Reported in | Revenue | Rate | GBP |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Zenvara | GBP | 625,000 | 1.0000 | 625,000 |
| Quillfern | EUR | 700,000 | 0.8450 | 591,500 |

## Can Zoho Analytics do the consolidation?

Zoho publishes the closest thing to an official workaround. A partner-support article shows how to import several Zoho Books organizations into one Zoho Analytics workspace and combine them with queries that multiply amounts by a rate[10](#src-10).

Read it for what it is. The article says the currency rates in the query "are manually entered", so someone has to change them each month. Its sample converts three currencies and does not cover the others in the same example. It does not mention intercompany eliminations or outside shareholders[10](#src-10). For a two-company group with one foreign currency it can be enough. Every extra currency, every intercompany fee and every part-owned subsidiary adds work.

## What can a group do today without new software?

A spreadsheet works for a small group if it is built carefully. The minimum is:

1. One tab per company, filled from that company's trial balance for the month, in its own currency.
2. A mapping column that assigns each account to a group account, kept in one place.
3. A rates tab with the closing and average rate for each currency, with the source and date.
4. An eliminations tab listing each intercompany pair, the amount both sides agree on, and anything left.
5. A check that the group balance sheet balances and that retained earnings agree with last month.

The [post on intercompany balances](/blog/why-intercompany-balances-never-agree/) explains the eliminations tab, and the [consolidation Excel template guide](https://finconsol.com/guides/consolidation-excel-template/) sets out the layout. The weak point is not the first month. It is the month a rate is mistyped or a new account is not mapped, and nobody notices.

If the two companies trade with each other, Zoho Books has a Networking feature for linked organizations. Zoho's page says it is in early access, that you contact Zoho support to have it enabled, and that only the transactions you push cross between the organizations[4](#src-4). It saves re-keying. It does not report on the group.

## How does Finconsol handle this?

Finconsol connects to each Zoho Books organization directly, read only, and refreshes it every night. It never writes back to the books. Each organization is read as it is. Finconsol then maps its accounts to one group chart, translates it at the group's closing and average rates, compares and eliminates intercompany balances, and shows non-controlling interest.

Rates are set once for the group and applied to every company, so two companies cannot use two rates. The rate and the elimination each stay visible as lines you can open, which is what a reviewer or auditor asks to see.

Companies on Xero or QuickBooks come in by trial balance upload today, and a direct connection for both is coming soon. Any other system comes in by trial balance as well. The [guide to Zoho Books for a group of companies](/blog/zoho-books-for-a-group-of-companies/) covers the whole picture.

## Questions

**Can Zoho Books consolidate multiple organizations?**

On the help pages and plan comparison we opened, Zoho Books has no report that combines organizations. Each organization reports alone in its own base currency. The group view is built outside it, in a spreadsheet, in Zoho Analytics or with consolidation software.

**Does Zoho ERP consolidate better than Zoho Books?**

Zoho ERP is a different product with multi-company management and an elimination subsidiary, so it does have consolidated reporting. Whether it suits a group depends on moving every company onto it. A group that stays on Zoho Books needs the group view built separately.

**Can I see one balance sheet for two Zoho Books organizations?**

Not from a Zoho Books report, on the pages we checked. You can export each organization's balance sheet and combine them, but you then have to translate currencies, map accounts and remove intercompany balances yourself.

**Does a higher Zoho Books plan add consolidation?**

The plan comparison page we opened on 29 Oct 2026 has no row for consolidation, organizations or multi-entity reporting. Claims on other websites that a plan includes it are not supported by that page. Check Zoho's current page before relying on any tier.
